Frequently Asked Questions

Please stop back often, as we will be adding more facts about our sheep.

Q:How many times a year do we shear?
A: We shear our sheep once a year. We try to shear just prior to lambing, so the ewes do not have to carry the extra weight of the wool during the end of their pregnancy. Plus the lambs can snuggle up close to mom during the cold weather.

Q: What do the sheep eat?
A: We feed our sheep alfalfa hay that we bale from our fields. They also graze on pasture area that has been seeded with a pasture mix including timothy, clover and alfalfa. They also like corn, oats, apples and pears.
